Oredas David "Bo" Kent Jr. | Visit Guest Book A retired cattle rancher, buyer for Lacey Cattle Co. and former employee of Steve Kent Trucking, he passed away at his home at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010. He was 78, a lifelong resident of Lottie and a U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at Niland's Funeral Home, Livonia, Wednesday, July 21, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Religious service at Wilson Memorial Methodist Church, Lottie, Thursday at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ted Fine. Interment in Cottonwood Cemetery, Lottie. Survived by his four daughters, Julie K. Artigue and husband Karl, Elise Kent LaHaye and Candice M. and Amanda J. Kent; six sons, Steven W. Kent Sr. and wife Trudy, Oredas David Kent III, Matthew Kent and wife Toucha, and Thomas, John Paul and Michael Kent; loving friend of 18 years, Ruth Whittington; aunts, Carolyn Kent and Ann Kent; grandchildren, Steve Kent Jr., Anna Kent, Joseph Kent, Kaleb and Kolby and Kelsie Artigue, Jonathen Russo, Abigail LaHaye, Austin, Ean, Aysha, Alexis, Evan, Emily, Dylan, Olivia, Michael Jr. and Jesse Kent; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Oredas Kent Sr. and Anna Mae Andrews Kent; son, Ramie Malone Kent; and granddaughter, Andrielle Artigue. Pallbearers will be Steven W. Kent Sr., Matthew Kent, Thomas Kent, Kaleb and Kolby Artigue, Oredas David Kent III, Michael Kent and Joseph O. Kent. Honorary pallbearers are John Weil and Sonny Sklar. He was a member of Wilson Memorial United Methodist Church, co-founder and board member of False River Academy of New Roads, helped found the Louisiana Cutting Horse Association and lifelong member of the Louisiana Cattleman's Association.
