Bio

Barbara Lorraine Widhalm , 82, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born in Denver, Colorado to Margaret Belle Patten Johnson and Richard Lorraine Musgrove. She grew up in Denver and attended Colorado State University. She married her husband Gerald Dale Widhalm in 1953. Being an American Red Cross volunteer and first aid instructor for more than 10 years and a Cub Scout Den Mother and coordinator for 9 years was a big part of her life while raising children. She moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1987 and was the Medical Records Director at Bates Memorial Hospital in Bentonville. She was a consultant to hospitals and nursing homes in Colorado, Wyoming, and Arkansas, finally retiring in 1990. She was a member of AARP, NARFE, American Medical Record Association, and St. Bernard Catholic Church. She volunteered at the Bella Vista Library for 28 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and husband. She is survived by her three sons, Eric Widhalm and wife, Sue of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Jere Widhalm and wife, Thaweeporn of Gravette, Arkansas, Chuck Widhalm and wife, Carol of Fairview, Texas; daughter-in-law, Eva Widhalm of Arlington, Virginia; three sisters, Marti Mohr, Dorothy Stevenson, Nancy Mandell; nine grandkids, Nic, Lori, Angela, Chris, Lukas, Kyle, Kasey, Jack and Jay; six great-grandkids, Alexa, Derek, Elijah, Augustus, Brycen, Makenna. A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, One St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista, Arkansas. Visitation will be Friday, January 19, 2018 from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. with Rosary after at the Bella Vista Funeral Home, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bella Vista Library (11 Dickens Place, Bella Vista, Arkansas 72714), St. Bernard Catholic Church (One St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista, Arkansas 72715) or to your local Salvation Army.
