Obit Mount Pleasant Daily Tribune Sunday, July 18, 2010 Don Russell Johnson, 82, of Mount Pleasant, died Thursday, July 15, 2010, in Mount Pleasant. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18, at Green Hill cemetery with Dr. Steven Diaz officiating, under the direction of the Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was born in Mount Pleasant on July 17, 1927, the son of Willie Gilbert and Grace Vera Johnson. He served his country in the United States Army. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Allan Bryant; a grandson and wife, Michael and Mickey Jo Roberts; a granddaughter, Teri Danieele Jones; granddaughter and husband Stefanie and Rodney Taylor; a granddaughter and son-in-law, Kim and Shawn Jones; and seven great-grandchildren; as well as a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Hughes Johnson; a son, James Kenny Johnson; daughter Connie Marie Johnson Jones and son-in-law Mike Jones; his parents; and two brothers, James Reginald and John Mathis Johnson.
