Wife: Martha Ann (Cathey) Massingill Parents: Charley Massingill & Myrtle Moore Massingill ******************* Douglas Walter Massingill, 68, died Saturday, July 10, 1999. Funeral services were July 13 at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel, the Reverend Albert Schroeder officiating. The interment was at Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Massingill was born June 25, 1931, in Evant, the son of Charlie and Myrtle Moore Masingill. He was married to the former Martha Ann Cathey. He served in the United States Air Force for 15 years and retired from Behrens' Drug Company after 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by a son, Olan Massingill. Survivors include his wife, Ann Massingill of Waco; a daughter, Zena and husband Jeff Pearcy of Austin; a son, Charlie Massingill and wife Sharon of Robinson; a sister, Florence Parker of San Antonio; eight grandchildren, Dickie, Dustin, Charlie Jr., Scott and Kevin Massingill, Wayne Pearcy, and Pete and Stephanie; three great-grandchildren, Gayla Ray Davis, Olan A.J. Massingill and Kristin Brook Massingill. Memorials may be made to the National Federation of the Blind or to the American Heart Association.
