Raymond F. Lange, 85, of Callaway died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Callaway Good Samaritan Center. Raymond was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Callaway to Julius and Mary (Montgomery) Lange. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Lange. Survivors are: his wife of 58 years, Donna Lange of Callaway; daughters, Linda McCullum of Ravenna and Janice Perdue of St. Paul; sons and a daughter-in-law, Keith Lange of Oconto and Larry and Rhonda Lange of St. Paul; 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Arlys Lange of Overland Park, Kan.; sister-in-law, Maxine Lange of Grand Island; sisters-in-law, Louise and husband, Ralph Fleming, of Pinehurst, Idaho, Marvel Harriman of Payette, Idaho; brothers-in-law, Don Harriman of Montrose, Colo., Dale and Annalee Harriman of Horsebend, Idaho, Roger Hood of Brady, Everett and wife, Addie Harriman of Topeka, Kan.; oaunt, Loretta Hays of Cozad; as well as many nieces, nephews and large extended family. Raymond married Marie Trembly, who passed away a few years later. To this marriage one son was born, Donald Ray. He then married Donna Harriman on April 13, 1952, four children were born to this marriage, Linda McCullum, Janice Perdue, Keith Lange and Larry Lange. Raymond worked at the Callaway CO-OP for 26 years. He also owned four Semi-trucks that were used for gas transport, cattle hauling and grain hauling. Ray and Donna moved to Palmer in 1975, as a transfer from CO-OP. Ray was injured in 1982 and the couple moved to Grand Island. In 1989, they moved back to their hometown of Callaway. He enjoyed hunting until he lost his eyesight in one eye in 1955. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling; especially to the mountains, dancing and gardening, especially fresh tomatoes. He also loved to play practical jokes on the grandchildren and had a fun sense of humor. He was a good friend and helpful to all. The couple's granddaughter, Vicki Wright, came to live with Ray and Donna throughout her high school years and graduated in 1996. Ray was also preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Burt Russell; brother, Dale Lange; sisters-in-law, Doris Hood, Deanna Harriman; brothers-in-law, Jerry and Wayne Harriman; grandparents, Montgomery; grandparents Lange; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Muriel Harriman and other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends and relatives.
