Bio

W. C. "Dub" Woodson age 86, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010, at his home. He was born June 13, 1924 in Maypearl, Texas to William Clyde Woodson and Rudell Hargrove Woodson. He married Mabel Bradley on October 5, 1946. Dub was a machinist for Larkin for 35 years. He was a WWII veteran serving time in the Philippines and Hawaiian Islands. Dub was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of the College Street Church of Christ for over 56 years and served as a deacon for many years. Survivors include his wife,Mabel Woodson of Waxahachie, his daughter and her husband Connie and Sonny Atkins of Waxahachie; his son and his wife Jimmy and Debra Woodson of Plano; six grandchildren, Shannon and Jerry Almon, Tres and Dana Atkins, Guy and Mica Atkins, Honey and George Horn, Jennifer and Brett Hees and Jonathan Woodson; great-grandchildren, Shanleigh, Jackson and Taylor Almon, William, Dylan and Lauren Atkins, Haley, Millie and Beckham Atkins, Ryleigh and Georgi Horn and Sydney and Jillian Hees. He was preceeded in death by his great-granddaughter Shanleigh Almon, his brother, Joe Woodson and his parents, W. C. Woodson and Rudell Pinkerton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday, July 12 , 2010 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 A.M. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at the College Street Church of Christ with Dean Kilmer officiating. Interment will be held at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 13. 2010 at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the College Street Church of Christ Building Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home at 511 West Main, Waxahachie, Texas.
