Published in the Athens Review May 13, 1937 Following a long illness, George W. McCarley, 67 year old resident of the New York community, died at his home two miles North of that place at 11 o'clock Tuesday night. He had been a resident of Henderson county for more than half a century. Funeral services were scheduled to be held at 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with interment following in the New York cemetery. The deceased is survived by his wife. Son of Haywood McCarley & Lucy H Armstrong Married Adline Gauntt Dingler in 1910 in Henderson County, Texas.
