Albuquerque Journal Albuquerque, New Mexico Sunday, July 1, 1956, page thirty-three HOOD -- Rev. Andrew O. Hood, 66, resident of Balmorhea, Tex., passed away here Friday evening after a ten-day stay in a hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leta Hood, who is here; one son, Bill Hood, Farmington, N. M., who is here; two grandchildren; four brothers, Lloyd, Ft. Sumner, Wilbur, Dallas, Tex., Charles Hereford, Tex., and Luther Hood, Wichita Falls, Tex.; five sisters, Mrs. L. Z. Manier, Carrizozo, Mrs. Rua Girard, Socorro, Mrs. Etta Seigler, Herefor, Mrs. Clara Moore, Postoak, Tex., and Mrs. Laura Hendrix, Norman, Okla. He was a Methodist minister in Balmorhea; member of Springer Lodge No. 45 A.F.&A.M., Eastern Star and veteran of World War I. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock from the First Methodist Church here. The Rev. George Ditterline, Rev. Kenneth Ford, and Rev. Chas. Thigpen will officiate. Pallbearers will be: Rev. F. E. Curry, Rev. L. J. Bruner, Rev. Ben Williams, Rev. Charles Mitchell, Rev. Paul Morrell, and Rev. Wayne Douglas. Interment will be made in Fairview Park Cemetery. Strong-Thorne Mortuary in charge of the arrangements.
