Published in Amarillo Globe-News, April 20, 2008 Billie Jean Pond Campbell, 78, of Amarillo, Texas died Friday, April 18, 2008. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas with Randy Srader officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Amarillo, Tx. Mrs. Campbell was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Shamrock, Tx. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1948. She was a longtime resident of her beloved Fort Collins, Colo., between 1963 and 2001, when she relocated to Amarillo. Her interests included writing, modeling and volunteer work at her church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Cheadle; and her parents, Lessa and Curtis Pond. Survivors include her husband, Benton Campbell; two daughters, Susan Wenger and husband Robert of Amarillo and Teresa Mihaylov and husband Nick of Irving, Tx; a stepdaughter, Vicky Kidd and husband Robert of Amarillo, Tx.; a sister, Dorothy Halford of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Christy Amason and husband Dennis of Amarillo and Anica, Ashlin and Adrian Wemple of Irving, Tx.; a stepgranddaughter, Lacey Kidd of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and two great-grandchildren, Elisabeth and Garrett Amason of Amarillo, Texas.
