PMH1 US Navy World War II Jimmy Gieptner passed away on Friday, June 15, 2007 at the age of 86, after a short stay in a nursing home in Floresville, Texas. Jimmy graduated from Cincinnati College of Embalming in 1941, and later retired from Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Service in 1968 as a Funeral Director and Embalmer. He was a life long member and Past Commander of the American Legion, Bill Roper Post # 364, Life member of the V.F.W. Post # 2397, Life member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 1202, 4th degree Knight of the Corpus Christi Assembly # 1097, member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, and he was a Veteran of WWII serving with the U. S. Navy. He was also a member of the KJT, KJZT, Moravian Association, and Sons of Hermann. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Dunn Gieptner. Survivors include his two sons and one granddaughter, all of San Antonio, Texas and numerous friends. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 17, 2007. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2007 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 10:15 a.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
