Bio

Gladys Dee Walker, 91, of Amarillo died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Charlie Cox officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mrs. Walker was born Sept. 27, 1920, in McKinney to Braxton and Belle Hickey. She had been a resident of Amarillo for 52 years. She married Ray Walker in 1961 in Amarillo. He passed away in 1997. Mrs. Walker loved her Lord and her family with all of her heart. She was a longtime member of Coulter Road Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by her family. She was preceded in death by a daughter Veta Bennett in 2000 and by a sister Lois Massey in 2001. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothea Walker of Justin and Ronda Gentry of Portales, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Raynita Aud of Carmi, Ill.; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; four step- grandchildren; and three step- great-grandsons.
