James (Dan) Dandridge 83 years of age passed away on June 27, 2010 at the Hospice House in Odessa. He was born on June 25, 1927 in Ennis, Texas to Robert and Jeffie Dandridge. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, he married Elaine Baker in 1963. Dan grew up in El Paso where he worked for the Sheriff's Dept. and later for El Paso Products Co.,transferring to Odessa in 1958. After Shell Oil Company purchased the refinery, Dan was promoted to shift supervisor. He then owned Dan's Auto Sales retiring in 1999. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; 2 sisters and son Randy Baker. He is survived by his wife; Elaine Dandridge of Odessa, son; James and his wife Michelle of Ferris, Tx., Steve Dandridge of Odessa, Bryan Dandridge and wife Joycelyn of Denver Co., 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, niece; Esther Dixon of Willcox, Az., Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9 am until 9 pm with the family to greet friends from 6 pm until 8 pm at Odessa Funeral Home. Grave Side services have been set for 11:00 am on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. The Dandridge family would like to express their gratitude to Deerings Nursing Home and the Hospice House for the care and kindness he received there.
