Bio

Services for Jimmy Charles Dunn, 60, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester B. Griffin, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home. Dunn died early Monday, Dec. 9, 1991, in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Crosbyton. He married Mary Whisenant on Jan. 27, 1951, in Denton. He attended West Texas State University and the University of North Texas. He was an insurance agent and had owned Citizens Insurance Agency in Crosbyton for many years. He was a member of the Kansas City Life Insurance Advisory Board. He was a former member of the Crosbyton City Council, the Crosbyton Volunteer Fire Department and the Community Action Board. He was a member of the Downtown Bible Class and was a member of the board of directors of Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jimmy Jr. of Lubbock; a daughter, Virginia Petree of Lubbock; a sister, Hazel Elms of McAllen; and three grandchildren. ©Crosby County News, December 12, 1991
