Dallas Morning News, The (TX) — Thursday, May 9, 1996 Services for Inez B. Coffey, past president of the Dallas Horticulture Center, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the East Dallas Christian Church. A private burial was held Tuesday. Mrs. Coffey died Sunday at Integrated Health Systems at Woodridge in Grapevine. She was 93. "She was one of the people that founded and spearheaded the Dallas Horticulture Center," said her nephew Michael Bone of Dallas. "She had a lifelong love of growing things, particularly flowers." Her interest in horticulture was sparked by her mother's interest in the subject, Mr. Bone said. She started arranging flowers for herself and then began arranging flowers for various charities. Mrs. Coffey was a nationally accredited master flower show judge who judged flower shows across the country. "She didn't do it because of the attention it gave her," Mr. Bone said. "She did it because she enjoyed it." Mrs. Coffey was also past president of the Marian Scruggs Garden Club and was a member of the Dallas Woman's Club. She is also survived by another nephew, Ponty Bone of Austin; and a niece, Sue Harris of Houston. Memorials may be made to the Dallas Horticulture Center at Fair Park or East Dallas Christian Church
