1900 Washington County, Texas census: Simon C Hilke was born March 1834 in Germany, came to the US in 1852, married 28 years to Elise Hilke, also from Germany who came to US in 1874. Elise had 8 children of which 6 are still living. Simon is a farmer. Elise Renck, a daughter, born June 1886 in Texas and Otto Renck, born January 1879 in Texas are living in the same household.
