Daughter of Emil and Hazel (Kinder) Rodgers. Margaret was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church. She attended country school before graduating from Wakefield High School. Margaret then attended Wayne State Teachers College. She taught students in rural schools as well as being a music instructor. Margaret was married to Paul Fischer on December 27, 1942 at Salem Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in the Wakefield, Allen and Wayne areas until January 1957, when they moved into Wakefield. Margaret was active in community events. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and was active in various ladies groups. She was a pianist, organist, choir and bell choir director. She is survived by a daughter Paulette and her husband Maynard Schubert of Gretna, Nebraska and a son Duane "Butch" and his wife Pam Fischer of Visalia, California, six grandchildren: Scott and wife Kim Schubert, Stacie Schubert, Steve and wife Amy Schubert, Tori Ross, Tyson Fischer and Jo Hannah Fischer, five great-grandchildren: Ryan, Jessica, Megan and Jeremy Schubert and Grant Whitmore. She is also survived by a brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul and an infant son Roger Lee.
