Bio

The parents of Charlotte "Lottie" Buesig Grummert are Friedrich Buesig (Büsig) 1829 -1900 and Wilhelmine Golderman Ritter 1836-1905. They emigrated on October 7, 1882. - From granddaughter Evelyn Grummert Jordening ----- According to Evelyn Jordening and Diane Decker, Charlotte "Lottie" Buesig Grummert is the sister of Lena Sophia Buesig Grummert . The sisters married the Grummert brothers. Lena's name is spelled as Büsig per the German emmigration records (1882 when Lena was 17). In the old country the name was spelled as Büsig, and when the Büsig's immigrated to the new world, they called themselves either Busig or Buesig. Per the German emigration record below, she may have lived in and/or worked in Laatzen , a town in the district of Hanover, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated directly south of Hanover. Evelyn Jordening said, regarding a possible relationship between the Buesig sisters and Charles W. Busig : " Charlotte Buesig was my grandmother, Mrs. Herman Grummert and her sister Lena Buesig married Ernst H. Grummert --the men were brothers. The other siblings were Henry , Anna , Frederick , Wilhelmina (Mrs. Carl Tinnapple ), Mary (Mrs. Henry Schroeder) , Louise (Mrs. Christ Pollock) , Dorothea (Mrs. Arthur Messall) and August . I haven't been able to find the connection of relationship. The passenger list I have lists only five daughters, Charlotte 8 (my grandmother), Dora 10, Lena 16, Maria 13, Maria 18 (this is Minnie, Mrs. Tinnappel) and one son August. Lena, Mary, Dora, Charlotte and August are children of Fred and Wilhelmine. Fred had 4 children from his first marriage, Heinrich, Anna, Fred A. and Minnie. Wilhelmine's daughter is Louise Ritter . Henry and Anna never came to this country. The family first settled at Bathlett, Illinios for a few years before coming to Kansas. Louise Ritter Buesig came with her husband Christ Pollock." ----- After searching the http://aidaonline.niedersachsen.de/ site for "Büsig" I found the following record of an emmigration. It appears Lena emigrated to America in 1882 when she was 17 years old. 1. Büsig, Lina, Laatzen 2. 20. 10. 1866, Hannover 3. Dienstmagd 5. in Hannover lebende Eltern 7. Amerika 8. 1882 translated: 1. Büsig, Lina, Laatzen 2. 20. 10. 1866, Hannover 3. Maid 5. Parents live in Hannover 7. America 8. 1882 ----- On February 18, 1897 in the USA, Charlotte Buesig married Hermann Friedrich Wilhelm Grummert who was born March 20, 1874 in Holzhausen, Luebbecke, Westfalen, Preussen. They lived in Nebraska and had children: Ernst Fritz George Grummert b: 6 DEC 1897 Nora Maria Wilhelmine Grummert b: 26 OCT 1899 Emil Wilhelm August Grummert b: 11 APR 1901 in Plymouth, Jefferson County, Nebraska Edwin Fritz Grummert b: 27 NOV 1902 in Plymouth, Jefferson County, Nebraska George Ernst Johann Grummert b: 9 JAN 1905 Normann Wilhelm Heinrich Grummert b: 25 JUL 1906 Hilda Lina Karolina Grummert b: 15 SEP 1910 SOURCE OF ABOVE: Young Family History and related lines Note: The above source shows Charlotte Buesig Grummert's parents to be August Busig and Rosine Arberg. This is wrong. They are mixing up this Charlotte Buesig who was born on July 26, 1874 (birth date per her tombstone) in Hanover, Germany to Friedrich Buesig (Büsig) 1829 -1900 and Wilhelmine Golderman Ritter 1836-1905 with a Charlotte Büsig who was born on Nov. 26, 1874 (birth date per church records) in Hanover to Johann Heinrich August Wilhelm Büsig and Sophie Charlotte Dorothee Rosine Arberg . August Büsig's daughter Charlotte married on October 14, 1899 in Hanover, Germany to Johann Gonswa and lived her life in Germany. Charlotte Buesig married on February 18, 1897 in the US to Hermann Friedrich Wilhelm Grummert and lived her life in Nebraska. There were two different people named Charlotte Büsig (Buesig).
