Services for Dora Fern "Jean" Oliver, 87, of Lamesa, were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2010 in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Burial followed at Resthaven. Mrs. Oliver passed away on Tuesday, June 22nd. She was born on Jan. 8 1923, in Altoga, Texas to Earl E. and Dora Ella Lawson Cate. She married J.D. Oliver on Feb. 5, 1949 in Terry County. She was a longtime resident of Brownfield prior to moving to Lamesa in 2000. She was a member of Brownfield and Lamesa Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Eustace Earl, in 1950; her husband in 1999; and a sister who raised her, Vera Mae Worley, in 1985. Survivors include three daughters, Kay Jones of Cleburne, Rita Rodgers of Brownfield and Brenda Oliver of Lamesa; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
