Wife of Samuel Jacob Blackburn, daughter of James Alexander Sluder and Elizabeth Jane Fraeser. Obit. Temple Daily Telegram, Temple, Bell Co, TX. Mrs. Blackburn, 88 Dies Here Friday; Last Rites Today Mrs. Mary Blackburn 88, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Lizzie Rhoades, 812 South Eighth Street Friday, at 12:30 p.m. after an illness of four weeks. She was born Sept. 13, 1861 in Tennessee and had lived in Temple and Troy for the past 60 years. She was married to S. J. Blackburn in 1884 and he died in 1910. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Mrs Blackburn is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Rhoades of Temple; two sons, R. J. Blackburn of Fort Worth and John Blackburn of Troy; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held in the Hewett Funeral Home Saturday at 3:30 p.m., Rev Corn of Mexia and Rev Jack Thornton of Temple will officiate and burial will be in the Roberts Cemetery at Troy. Active pallbears will be grandsons of Mrs. Blackburn
