Son of Andrew Jackson Clem and Elmina Elizabeth Holland. Richard and wife Laura Jane Hargrove were married 16 Jan 1901 in Athens, Limestone County AL. They came to Texas in 1907. R. A. Clem, 68, Dies In Dallas; Burial Is Today Troy-July 30 [1949] R. A. Clem, 68, died in a Dallas hospital Friday at 5:40 p.m. after and illness of several weeks Funeral services will be held at the Hewett Funeral home Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. L. L. Thornton and Rev. J. W. Church will officate. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery. Mr. Clem was born Jan, 26, 1881 in Limestone County, Ala., and came to Texas in 1907. He has lived in Troy since that time. He was married to Miss Laura Hargrove in 1900 and she preceded him in death in 1931. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He is Survived by a son, Mitchell Clem of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. J. S. Blackburn of Troy and Mrs. J. T. Cluck of Dallas; a brother G.C. Clem of Marlin; and nine grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be nephews of Mr. Clem.
