Bonnie Bernice Butterfield was born the daughter of Charles Leroy Butterfield and Velva Ursula Doty. They are buried in this cemetery. Bonnie was married to Wilbur D Powell on May 19, 1937 in Linn County, Iowa. He is buried this cemetery. They were parents of two children, Keith Lyle Powell and Janet Kay Powell. ~0bit~Bonnie Powell, 92, formerly of Rowley, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids, surrounded by her family. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 21, at White Funeral Home in Independence, where visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills. Survivors include a son, Keith (Karen) Powell of Davenport, Florida; a daughter, Janet (Russell) Marks of Cedar Rapids; a sister, LaVena Allen of Coeur"d'Alene, Idaho; a brother, Dean Butterfield of Charles City; six grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Powell; and a brother. Bonnie was born August 26, 1917, in rural Linn County, the daughter of Charles Leroy and Velma Doty Butterfield. She graduated from Troy Mills High School and then married Wilbur Powell on May 19, 1937, in Center Point, Iowa. She attended Cornerstone Four Square Church in Independence.
