Elleanor May Frasier was born at Fairmont, Nebraska on April 9, 1879, the oldest of 10 children born to Llewellyn W. Frasier and Anna Elizabeth (Bair) Frasier. As a girl, Elleanor moved with her family to Yuma, Colorado for a short time, then later lived near the towns of Eustis, McCook and Grafton in Nebraska, before the family relocated to Kearney, Nebraska in the fall of 1895. On October 6, 1898 she married Fred H. Russell in Kearney, where he had been born in 1877. Fred and Elleanor became parents of seven children, two of whom died at a young age--Robert, the first born, who died shortly before his first birthday, and a daughter who was stillborn. The others were DeWayne, Shirley "May", Thomas, Maude and Fred. Elleanor died at age 35, one month after giving birth to the stillborn daughter. She died on June 29, 1914 in Kearney, suffering from blood poisoning. She was buried in the Kearney Cemetery.
