Earl Vaughn Wieseman, age 89, of Osceola, passed away June 9, 2010 at Osceola Good Samaritan Society. Funeral services were held Friday June 11, 2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola with Pastor Clifford Hoper officiating. Interment was in the Osceola Cemetery with military rites by the Osceola Legion Post #91. Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg had been entrusted with arrangements. Earl was born May 5, 1921 to George A. and Addie Luella (McCormick) Wieseman northwest of Osceola in Polk County. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1938. Following high school he began his career on the farm. In August of 1942 he was drafted in the Army and served in the Aleutians for the duration of WWII. After returning home to Osceola he continued to farm until he retired in the early 80's. On June 29, 1972 he was united in marriage to Pauline Mautz in Grand Island. Earl enjoyed sports, Big Red football, "cutting the rug" at area ballrooms, coffee time with his buddies and teasing his grandchildren. He was a great friend, a great dad, and the best grandpa ever. He was a member of the Osceola American Legion Post #91, and St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Addie, three brothers Bill, Bud and Harold, and one sister Fern Mulgrue.
