Donald LeRoy Slump, 85, passed away, June 8, 2005. Survived by his wife Thelma Slump; children, Gary (Donna) Slum of Chandler, Ariz, and Lana ( Jim) Niehans of Penrose, Colo; sister Iona (Bill) White ; grandchildren, Andrew (Michelle) Slump or Aurora, Colo, and Carrie (Sheldon) Vidano of Chandler, Aria; and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Garrett and Matthew Vidano. Donald was born Nov 10, 1919, in Villisca, Iowa. He served his country in the U S Army as a mast sargent during World War II in the invasions of north Africa, northern France and Sicily. Donald retired from the CF & I in quality control for the Tube Mill and was a member of Local Steel Workers Union No 2102.. As per his request, there will be no viewing. funeral service will be held 2 pm Saturday, June 11, 2005, in the Montgomery and Steward Chapel with Gary Slump officiating. Military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team and interment will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice through the funeral home.
