Hugo H. Richter son of Albert and Alma Richter.Hugo H. Richter married Alena Bertha Schmidt in 1944. ____________________ Hugo Richter Sr. Funeral Services Held April 13 Hugo H. Richter Sr.,91,of Weimar,died April 10 at Parkview Manor in Weimar. Funeral services were held Tuesday,April 13,at Weimar United Church of Christ with Rev.Karen Buck Nelson officiating.Interment followed at the Masonic [Odd Fellows] Cemetery in Weimar. Mr.Richter was born Aug.22,1912 in Sadan to Albert and Alma (Trojan) Richter.He attended school in Borden. He married Alena Schmitt in 1944 in Monterey,Calif. He served his country in the United States Army for three years,entering in 1944. He was stationed at Fort Ord in California where he served as a cook and also was a cook on a military train that traveled from California to Washington. He worked for the Texas Highway Department for 28 years and retired at the age of 62.While he was in California,Hugo worked as a carpenter's helper and helped build the homes of Bob Hope,Jack Benny and Jackie Gleason. He was a member of the American Legion Otto Rahlwes Post No.259. He enjoyed the outdoors,riding through the country with his wife,an taking care of his granddaughters and nieces. He also loved Coca-Cola and always said "There's always time for a Coca-Cola." Mr.Richter is survived by his wife,Alena Richter of Weimar;one son,Hugo Richter,Jr. and wife Deena of Weimar;and two grandchildren,Angela and Vickie Richter. Pallbearers were Wilbert Lucko,Johnnie Schmidt,Gordon Richter,Henry Schmidt,Erwin Schmitt,Robert Schroeder,James Engbrock and Paul Vasut
