Funeral services Tuesday for Joseph Wendell Glenn Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. for Joseph Wendell Glenn at First Baptist Church of Durant. The Rev. Steve Delony officiated, assisted by Rev. Ed McDaniel. Mr. Glenn died Sunday, March 24 at his home in Durant. He was 80. He was born February 6, 1905 in Aberdeen and for many years was owner-operator of Glenn Dry Goods Store in Durant. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, was teacher for the Men’s Bible Sunday School Class, and a deacon at First Baptist Church. He retired from the dry goods business in 1976, and was a member of the Durant Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lovie Honea Glenn of Durant; one brother, Leonard G. Glenn of Birmingham, Alabama and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Glenn Bryant of Panama City, Florida. Burial was in Mizpah Cemetery of Durant with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Serving as active pallbearers were W.C. Landrum, Doug Self, E.V. Truitt, B.L. Harlan, John Allen Terry and Earl Dodd Browning. The Holmes County Herald – Page 1 Lexington, MS March 28, 1985
