Shiner Gazette, 24 Nov 1977 Mrs. Pesek Rites Held Mrs. Willie J. Pesek, 90 years, 8 months and 28 days, died at 12:35 p.m. Wed., Nov. 16, 1977 in a Yoakum nursing home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at Sacred Heart Church, Hallettsville. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Rev. Stanley Petru officiated. The body was taken to the church from Kubena Funeral Home at 9 a.m. Friday. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday by the parish at Kubena Chapel. Mrs. Pesek, nee Albina Pavlas, was born Feb. 18, 1887, in Lavaca County, daughter of Felix and Frances Pavlas. She was married to Willie J. Pesek on Oct. 10, 1910 in the Praha Catholic Church. He preceded her in death Aug. 27, 1947. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lillian Kristek of Hallettsville, Mrs. Annie Koerth of Alice, Mrs. Josephine Prasek of Agua Dulce, Mrs. Angeline Roberts of Victoria; three brothers, Adolph Pavlas of Flatonia, Louis and Julius Pavlas, both of Schulenburg; a sister, Mrs. Mary Doubrava of Cuero; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
