Husband of Susie Mae Ratliff Corsicana (TX) Semi-Weekly Light, Jan 13, 1961, p. 2 Thomas A. Ratliff, 70, retired farmer, of Mertens, died in Memorial hospital early Wednesday. A native of Ellis County, he had resided in the Mertens and Irene area for the past 31 years. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the Mertens Baptist Church. The rites will bee conducted by Rev. Joe Walts, pastor. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery at Mertens. Surviving are his wife of Mertens; six sons, Lee Ratliff, Boone; Iowa; Rufus and Ordral Ratliff, both of Grand Prairie; Thomas Price Ratliff, Irving; Chesley Dean Ratliff, Kermit and Roy Ratliff, Arlington; three daughters, Mrs. Delia Mae Britton, Blooming Grove; Mrs. Edith Roberts and Mrs. Sarah Bell Haveman, both of Odessa; a brother, Charles Britton, Denton; 24 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
