Bio
Mr. Roy Leonard Young, age 86, of McKinney, Texas passed away April 20, 2006, in McKinney. He was born January 4, 1920, in Collin County, Texas to James W. and Lula (Pell) Young. On August 10, 1946, he married Lora Lorene West in Anna, Texas. Mr. Young was a gas truck driver for the Stewart Oil Company. He was a member of the Community North Baptist Church of McKinney, the Masonic Lodge # 51, VFW and American Legion. Mr. Young served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his son Ronnie and wife Carol Taylor of McKinney; daughter Lynette and husband Johnny Taylor of Blue Ridge, Texas; grandchildren Crethia Taylor of Pineville, Lousiana, Glen Smith of Denison, Texas, Jeffery Taylor of Farmersville, Texas and Thomas Taylor of McKinney, Texas; six great grandchildren; sister Thelma Howard of McKinney, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and many friends. His wife, parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2006 at Ridgeview Memorial Park with Rev. Bruce Austin officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
