Bio
Funeral Mass for Rose Johnson will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at Christ the King Cathedral with Monsignor Ben Kasteel officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Rose was born Dec. 27, 1914 in Falls County. She graduated from Posey High School in Posey. She was a member of Christ the King Cathedral and a former member of the Catholic Daughters in Slaton. Rose retired from Dillard's Department Store as a department manager in alterations, where she worked for about 35 years. She is survived by two children, Carylon Veretto and husband Bob of Levelland, and Paul Johnson and wife Jeanette of Fort Worth; a brother, Andy Loke and wife Margaret of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association or to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
