Bio
Schulenburg - Leo Sternadel passed away Tuesday, February 12, 1974 in Youens Memorial Hospital, Weimar, following a brief illness at the age of 62 years, 3 months and 1 day. He had been hospitalized since suffering a broken hip in a fall several weeks ago. Funeral services were held from Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Chapel, Schulenburg, Thursday, February 14 at 9:30 a.m. with continued services at St. Rose Catholic Church at 9:45 a.m. Rev. Adolph Janda officiated at the funeral Mass and burial in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery at St. John's. Pallbearers were Johnnie Blinka, Paul Vesely, Melvin Janecka, Mike Rab, Elroy and Randy Sternadel. Mr. Sternadel, son of Frank and Otillia (Gansky) Sternadel, was born November 11, 1911 at St. John's. He was a resident of the St. John's community until moving to Schulenburg three years ago and had been employed at George Hermis Grocery. Survivors are a sister, Mrs. George (Martha) Rab of West Columbia; four brothers, Albert Sternadel of Ganado, Ervin Sternadel of Schulenburg, Hugo Sternadel of Moulton and Victor Sternadel of Hallettsville.
