Bio

Veronica's mother Anezka Petr married Josef Adamec on January 30, 1866 in Ticha, Moravia in what is now the Czech Republic. He died on February 2, 1869 leaving her with 2 small girls and another girl born 2 1/2 weeks after he died. At that point she lived with her parents until she joined a group of emigrants from Ticha in 1871 with her girls, Veronica, age 4, Anezka, age 3, and Mariana, age 2. They embarked on the ship BREMEN in Bremen, Germany on March 18, 1871. After sailing for 8 weeks, they landed in Galveston on May 10, 1871. Anezka Petr Adamec married Cyrill Janik in Dubina, Texas on September 12, 1871. They had 7 more children: Anton, Johanna, Frances, Stephen, Frank, Filomena, and Barbara.
