Victoria Advocate, October 10, 2008 LADDIE BERNARD CERNY SHINER—Laddie Bernard Cerny, 84, of Shiner, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 in Shiner Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on Dec. 9, 1923, in Gonzales, to Jim A. Cerny Jr. and Emma Petru Cerny. He was self-employed as a florist. Laddie is survived by one aunt, Estella Petru, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three cousins, Robert Petru, Alton Petru, and Leon E. Petru. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., at Kubena Funeral Home in Hallettsville. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, the Rev. Bob Knippenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Memorials: St. Paul Catholic School.
