Donald "Don" Cowan, age 60, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. He was born on May 2, 1950, in Yoakum to William and Juanita McGrew Cowan. Survivors: daughters, Jennifer Cowan and Nicole Cowan, both of Austin; son, Donny Cowan and wife Kathy of Victoria; grandchildren, Kloe and Madison Cowan; brothers, Billy Cowan of Rusk, Richard Cowan of Yoakum, Robert Cowan of Gonzales, Johnny Cowan and Kenny Cowan, both of Yoakum; along with nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: parents; sister, Patsy Lauer; and the mother of his children, Dot Cowan. Family visitation will be from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Saturday at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Sonnier officiating. Burial will follow at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: nephews, Bobby, Jason, Russell, Justin, Cullen and Mike Cowan. Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
