Bio

Daughter of Alfred and Josephine (Tomasevicz) Bernt. She grew up on a farm in Polk County until moving to Columbus. On June 4, 1956 Maxine was united in marriage to Lee Iwanski at St. Andrew Catholic Church rural Shelby. Maxine was a woman of many talents, interests and loves. She loved her flowers and spent many hours tending to them. She loved her weekend road trips and trips to the lake. She loved fishing, camping and watching sports, especially baseball. She enjoyed her crafts, baking for Lee and trying out new recipes. Most of all she loved her family. Maxine did whatever was needed to show her love and support and made each person feel special. She was truly remarkable in her determination and never give up attitude. Maxine was an example of a virtuous woman to all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed but remembered forever. She is survived by: Husband: Lee Iwanski of Columbus, NE Mother: Josephine Bernt of Columbus, NE Daughter: Debbie Adams of Columbus, NE Son: Randy Iwanski of Rural Papillion, NE Daughter: Kathy Flavell of Bellevue, NE Daughter: Sue (Bryan) Hast of Columbus, NE Brother: Myron (Janis) Bernt of Stromsburg, NE Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren Nieces and Nephews She was preceded in death by her father Alfred Bernt
