James Douglas "Jimmy" Hayes Funeral services for James "Jimmy" Douglas Hayes, 61, of Sherman will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. He passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010 in Sherman. Jimmy was born on Sept. 30, 1948, the son of Frank and Cora Good Hayes. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served our country. He is survived by his sisters, Peggy Johnson and Brenda Hayes, both of Sherman; brother, Steve Hayes and wife Linda of Sherman; nephews, Tony Landrum and Jeff Hayes; nieces, Rhonda Jordan and Cindy Witherspoon; great-nephews, Andrew Landrum and Andy Hayes; great-nieces, Samantha Johnson and Rachael Witherspoon. He is also survived by his son, Greg Hayes of Mineola; daughters, Amy Hayes of Vandalia, Ill., and Jennifer Hayes of Louisiana. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Rodney Johnson. Family night will be held from 6 -8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from 6 -8 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home. (Published in The Herald Democrat on June 2, 2010)
