Services held for Clyde Wilson here Saturday Funeral services for Clyde Franklin Wilson, age 71, a resident of Donley County since 1929 and Clarendon since 1967, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 1977, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Owen McGarity, Minister of the First Presbyterian Church, and Dr. James O. Brandon, Minister of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in Citizens Cemetery with the arrangements under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors. Mr. Wilson died at 7:20 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 1977 in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. He was born on September 21, 1906 at Greenville, Texas and moved to Donley County from Quail, Texas. He owned and operated a service station and worked as a stockman before his retirement. He married Sadie Rhodes Head on June 24, 1967 at Dallas, Texas. He was a Baptist and a former long time member of the Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Sadie Wilson of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Klyda Fern Blackman of Fritch, Texas, Mrs. Pat McAnear of Brice; a step-daughter Mrs. Sybil Walker of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. Opal Waller of Maybank, Texas, a brother, Woodrow Wilson of Amarillo; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Casket bearers were Thad Rodgers, J.R. Brandon, Eldon Lyles, Glen Adkins, Roy Blackman, Ernest Kent Roy Crutchfield, and L.L. Wallace. Honorary bearers were of the Broncho football teams.
