Bio

Occupation: Farmer and bee keeper Age at death: 88 years He moved to Rosston in 1870 from Ashville, North Carolina. He was the son of Andrew Jackson Vess and Sarah Palmer Vess. He was 18 years old arriving via the Prairie Schooner via Memphis, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Shortly after arriving, Will married Caroline 'Callie' Jones in 1874, in the home of her parents, Silas and Mary E. Jones, near Leo, Texas. They had 2 daughters and Callie died in 1882. Will then married Sarah M. Cottner and had 3 more children.
