Bio

Walter "Waldo" Schoen was 90 years old when he went to be with the Lord. He was born September 29, 1919 in Taylor, Texas to Julius and Annie Schoen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Annie Schoen; five brothers, Eddie, Fritz, Benny, Bill and John Schoen; three sisters, Bernice Swisher, Johana Vance and Betty Pearl Glover. He lived in Danbury, Texas for the past 46 years. Walter was an Ironworker and a member of the Local 135 for over 55 years. He loved fishing and hunting. Walter leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Lillian "Lil" Schoen, of Danbury; four sons, Raymond Schoen and Karen Knighton, of Danbury, Marvin and Beverly Schoen, of Freeport, Kenneth and Joan Schoen, of Angleton, and Charles and Robin Schoen, of Alvin; sister-in-laws; Elsie Mott of Taylor & Julia Hill of Alvin; six grandchildren, Tif, Sarita, Rachael, Tyler, Reagan, Lynn and Matthew (Lynn) Schoen; three great-granddaughters; three great-step granddaughters; two great-step grandsons; and lots of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will Monday, May 24, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Palms Funeral Home Chapel in Angleton. Burial will follow in the Danbury Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, May 23rd from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Matthew Schoen, Jimmy Burger, Larry Castellon, Leslie Hall, Dan Hill and Bobbie Myers.
