Bio

Daughter of Victor and Hazel (Burch) Holy. Grew up in Newman Grove, graduated from Newman Grove High School. Married: Aug. 16, 1946, to John Gorgen in Central City. He died in 2005. Lived in Grand Island; moved to Kearney, 1947; with husband, established the John E. Gorgen Public Accounting Firm, 1957; was the office manager; sold the business, 1979, to McDermott and Miller. Activities: member of First United Methodist Church, Chapter GG of PEO and was a member and honorary member of the Envoys at the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce; enjoyed cooking and playing bridge, especially loved spending time with her friends and her grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Ron of St. Louis, and sister, Ruby Lutjens of Platte Center; also daughter-in-law, Nancy Gorgen of St. Louis; grandsons, Andy Gorgen and his wife, Nicole, J.B. Gorgen and his wife, Debbie, and daughter, Ashley, and Patrick Gorgen, all of St. Louis; and brother-in-law, Dale Lutjens of Platte Center. Was preceded in death by her husband, and brother, Jack Holy.
