Bio
Son of Alfred and Stella (Welch) Lusche. He attended school at District #2 and graduated from Kramer High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army, in Germany, from 1953-1955. On June 9, 1956, he married Marilyn Ruzicka at St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek. They lived in Omaha for five years and returned to rural Platte County, where they owned and operated Lusche's Longbranch for 13 years. Gayle was a mason and was very proud of his craft. Following retirement, Gayle and Marilyn moved to Benesch Lakes, Linwood where they have lived for the past 10 years. He was a life member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek,and the VFW and Legion in Columbus. Gayle is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Schuyler, two daughters;Debbie(Bob) Ruth, Columbus, Donna(Jerry) Jaixen, Columbus, three sons;David(Olga) Lusche, Columbus, Daryl Lusche and Kim Weich of High River, Alberta, Canada, and Duane(Lorrie) Lusche, Columbus, two sisters; Donna Jean(Jack) Wood, Lincoln, and Willa Mae Janssen of Arvada, Colorado. Eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Norbert Janssen.
