Alma A. Peters, 95, of Kearney died Monday, May 10, 2010, at Mother Hull Home. She was born June 20, 1914, in Schuyler to Edward and Emily (Pacas) Sedlacek. On May 27, 1930, she married Laddie Vacha in Colfax County. He died Feb. 17, 1974. In September 1981, she married Leo Peters in Kearney. He died June 7, 1995. Survivors are: son, Alvin Vacha and his wife, Linda, of Kearney; daughters, Pat Novak and her husband, Don, of O'Neill, Lori Cover of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Carol Vacha of Kearney; 36 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Bill Zielenski of Colorado Springs and a host of friends and relatives.. She grew up in Clarkson and attended rural school near Clarkson. She and Laddie farmed in the Clarkson area before moving to Kearney in 1952. They moved to Gibbon in 1964. She worked for J.A. Baldwin Manufacturing Co. for 18 years. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking, traveling and visiting family. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lillian Cech and Emma Zoubeck; brothers, Edward and Steven Sedlacek; sons, Laddie, Marvin, Donnie and Dave Vacha; daughters, Betty Hawke and Alice Zielenski; sons-in-law, Jeff Hawke, Rex Cover, Jack Delaet and Don Richardson; and three great-grandchildren.
