Texas Ranger ∼ REGULAR RANGER PRIVATE CO. C, CO B John Matt Bean was born April 2, 1880, in Jasper, Jasper County, Texas, to William Breckenridge Bean and Martha Caroline H. Turner. John stood 5ft. 11in. tall, had blue eyes, brown hair and a fair complexion. He was a cowboy and peace officer. In 1911, he was a constable at Rogers, Bell County, Texas and in 1913, he was a deputy sheriff in El Paso County. He enlisted in the Texas Rangers in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas, as a REGULAR RANGER from June 15, 1915, until October 21, 1915 as a private in Co. B. He resigned. In 1918, he was working as a mechanic in Hudspeth County, Texas and in 1930 was a cotton farmer, still living in in Arlington, Tarrant County, Texas. John Matt Bean died February 2,1960 in Arlington, Tarrant County, Texas and is buried in the Sierra Blanca Cemetery, Hudspeth County, Texas.
