Bobbie Gene Coleman Funeral services for Bobbie Gene Coleman, 79, of Bagwell, formerly of Sulphur Springs, were held Tuesday, April 27, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Sulphur Springs with Rev. Jimmy Shedd officiating. A military graveside service, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, followed at Clifton Cemetery in Rains County. Pallbearers were Eric Toles, Tony Rhodes, John Swindell, Robert Coleman, Justin Bass and Johnny Hawley. Bobbie Gene Coleman died on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Rains County on October 31, 1930, the son of Robert Stevens Coleman and Cora Virgie (Hines) Coleman. He married Dorothy Humphus, who preceded him in death. Mr. Coleman was a retired kiln foreman for A.P. Green Brick Plant. He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include a daughter, Emma Cook and husband Larry of Bagwell; two sisters, Opal Penny of Terrell and Maurietta Rhodes of Avinger. He was preceded in death by a son, Bobbie Gene Coleman Jr.; two brothers, Joe and Clifford Coleman; one infant brother and two sisters, Willie Mae Patterson and Dorothy Faye Burns.
