Mrs. H. B. Beard Dies of Pneumonia Attack Mrs. Carrie Ann Beard, age 64, wife of H. B. Beard of this community, died at her home near here at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday, March 10. Mrs. Beard had been in ill health for several months, although her condition had not been considered serious until a few days ago when she contracted pneumonia. Born in Alabama, deceased came to this community with her husband and family 31 years ago and had resided here since that time. She had been a member of the Baptist Church for many years. All who came in contact with her in her daily life spoke highly of the true Christian spirit she manifested. Mrs. Beard leaves a large number of friends in this city to mourn her passing. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of West at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, with Rev. McHenry Seal of Waco officiating, assisted by Rev. E. H. Owen of this city. Interment was at the Bold Springs cemetery. Pallbearers were: T.B. Hughey, Willie Wayne Hale, Adrian McCoy, Clay Webb, Clovis Russell and Milton McCollum. Surviving are her husband; six daughters, Mrs. L.A. Sawyer, Mrs. Bennie Trammel and Mrs. Curt Webb of West, Mrs. Dave Sawyer, Hillsboro, Mrs. H. L. Itschner, Ingleside, and Mrs. A.F. Bendendorfer of Corpus Christi; one son, W. H. Beard of West.
