LAMPASAS — Graveside service for W.H. Kincaid, 87, of Briggs will be 10 a.m. Friday in Gillum Cemetery in Oakalla. He died Tuesday, May 4, in a Williamson County hospital. Mr. Kincaid was born on July 21, 1922, to Julius Harris and Vera Virgie Gray Kincaid in Oakalla. On Aug. 2, 1942, he married Jean Morris in Oakalla. He served in the U.S. Air Force, 1942-1972, retiring as a Lt. Col. He flew in the Berlin Airlift in addition to regular missions to Vietnam. He worked as a car dealer in Lampasas in the 1950s, owning the Kaiser-Frazier dealership there. He served as pastor of numerous Methodist churches around Texas. He finished his pastoral career by serving 30 years at both Bertram and Mahomet Christian Churches. He was preceded in death by his wife in March 2008. Survivors include a son, Mark Kincaid of Leander; a daughter, Betty Ann Prewitt of Hondo; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Central Christian Church, 204 S. Broad St., Lampasas 76550. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.
