"Houston Chronicle," 14 May 2000 PENNY - Ila Mae Penny, age 90, passed away May 13, 2000. Survived by children Erlene Ford and husband Harold, Melvin Parker, Sr. and wife Mary, Johnny Penny and wife Jeanie, Ervin Penny; sisters Doris Rabun and Nettie Vaughn; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 16, 2000 at Brookside Funeral Chapel. Burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park. Brookside 13401 Eastex Pwy at Lander Rd. =========================================================== Even though her tombstone says Penny, she is buried under the name Powell. She was married 3rd to a Robert Powell. She was also married to Ona Lee Parker.
