Bio

Montrue Murphy, 91, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001 at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Finley officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Murphy, Bobby Murphy, Wesley Murphy, John Dubiski, David Ehler and Joel Derington. Mrs. Murphy was born Nov. 2, 1909 in Whitney to John and Dora Eubank. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hal D. Murphy; and sons, Hal Gene Murphy and Robert E. Murphy. Mrs. Murphy is survived by her son, Perry L. Murphy of Corsicana; grandchildren and their spouses, Gayle and Joel Derington of Oklahoma City, Okla., Paula and David Ehler of Hallettsville, Melinda and Perry Morris of Hallettsville, Debbye Murphy, Scott Murphy and Lisa Murphy, all of Duncanville, Kandy and Tony Weason of Dallas, Lynda Murphy of Denton, Bobby and Rebecca Murphy of Gonzales and Robin Murphy of New York, N.Y.; and great-grandchildren, Brian and Ben Ehler of Hallettsville, Wesley and Whitney Murphy of Gonzales and Morgan Acton of Duncanville.
