Williams, James Everett, passed away June 19, 2002 at home. He was born in Winfield, TX. Preceding him in death were his father, James A. Williams; mother, Susie Williams; wife, Joy Williams; brother, Alton Williams and daughter, Margie Fox. He is survived by his wife, Betty; his sister, Lurline Hastings (Robert) and Margie Copeland (George). He had two daughters, Cheryl Webb (Mike) in Cochise, AZ. and Rebekah Day (Arlon) in Yukon, OK.; stepchildren are Dan Hull, Thomas Hull, Tammy Litton (Ed), and Melody Hoopes (Lance). Jim had 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. During WWII he served as a Gunner's Mate with the U.S. Navy in the Coast Guard. He graduated from Sam Houston University and later from the U of A with a Master of Agricultural Degree. His career involved teaching and coaching youth. He also worked as a salesman for Swift & Co. and became a specialist in poultry. In 1959 he worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Chinie where he could be of assistance to the youth of the community. Later he served in various positions with the U of A Cooperative Extension Program as an Agricultural Agent, Specialist and Administrator. After he retired, he was ordained as a minister and was instrumental in starting small churches in Sunsites and Dragoon, AZ. He was a very dedicated person with each project he pursued. A Memorial Service will be held on June 24, 3:00 p.m. with a reception following at Mountain View Baptist Church, 3500 W. Overton Rd. Donations may be made to Dragoon Baptist Church, P.O.
