Waxahachie Daily Light; Aug 5, 1927 J. E. Pipkin, 85 years old, died at the home of his son, Wyllie Pipkin, at Crip. He came to Texas from Missouri, where he was born, 61 years ago. He moved from Waco to Red Oak and then to Crisp, where he had lived for the past 6 years. Mr. Pipkin had been a Mason for 52 years, being a charter member of the Masonic lodge at West. He was also a Confederate veteran. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: W. L. Pipkin, Turkey; Mrs. T. C. Gabriel, Hamlin; J. W. Pipkin, Turkey; J. H. Doyle, a stepson, of Sherman; C. M. Pipkin, San Antonio; Wylie Pipkin, Crisp; Mrs. Louis Hand, Crisp; Mrs. Drew Autry, Dallas; Mrs. Pearl Mull, Temple. Funeral services were held Friday at the Church of Christ in Crisp. Burial was in the cemetery at Crisp, under the direction of J. E. Keever, funeral director.
